Chevrolet and Operation Homefront have teamed up to collect donations for expecting military women in Illinois through Operation Precious CARgo. One of our favorite fellow bloggers, My Joy My World, has been selected as a team captain to fulfill a soon-to-be mother’s baby shower registry! But she needs our help to accomplish this! Over the next 2 weeks, she’ll be collecting the following items to donate to an expecting military mom:
- Diapers (sizes 4, 5 or 6)
- Baby wipes
- Bottles
- Pacifiers
- Blankets
- Baby soap and baby lotion
- Lanolin cream
- Burp cloths
- Onesies (gender-neutral)
- Socks
- Hats
- Newborn lounger pillow
- Hand sanitizer
- Medical kit – thermometer, mini-nail clippers, bulb syringe, etc.
- Hooded towel and washcloth
- Sensory toys and/or stuffed animals
If you’re interested in helping, there are a variety of ways to do so (she is collecting donations through March 21st):
- If you are in the Chicago or Milwaukee areas, contact Melanie at myjoymyworld (at) gmail (dot) com to make arrangements for her to pick up your donation.
- If you live outside of the area or would rather donate monetarily, please purchase a gift card through Amazon.com (any denomination) and email it to mjmwdonations (at) gmail (dot) com. Melanie will use the total donations to purchase items for the registry through the Amazon Mom program.
