Sparky’s Birthday Surprise is a free, educational app that you can download on iTunes. It not only teaches kids about fire safety in a fun way, it also includes fun games and activities for kids to play. We loved the three storytelling modes because you can either have the kids read the stories themselves, read and play, or have the story read to them. Our youngest child is still learning how to read, so she really enjoyed the “Read to Me” mode. It highlighted the words as the story was being told and she could click on the pictures for different actions or sounds. It made the story engaging and interactive for her while she learned about fire safety. She loved it so much, she’s already asking us to download other Sparky apps.
