Road Trip Necessity: RavPower Chargers Up To 70% Off on Amazon.com

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.

RavPower Pin

When we went on a road trip to Florida last month, which took about 24 hours, we wanted to make sure we were equipped with a cell phone charger that was portable, easy-to-use, can charge multiple devices and fully charge the devices before needing to be recharged itself. We decided to purchase a couple of theRAVPower 13400mAh Portable Chargers on Amazon.com after reading the reviews and when they were at a good price. It was one of the best purchases we’ve ever made! We are able to charge our smartphones and tablets with it from 0% to fully charged without the charger being completely drained. It also seems to charge a lot quicker than other chargers. We decided to get two – one to keep in the car in case of emergencies and one to take with us around Walt Disney World. It made our trip less stressful since we also used our phones as our main device to take photos. We never worried about running out of battery.

It’s on sale for 61% off on Amazon.com today with free 2-day shipping with Amazon Prime. It also makes great gifts! Other RavPower chargers are also on sale for up to 70%!

10 Reasons to Love Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa

#BeachesMoms

#10 – Characters & Kids’ Activities

Beaches is a family resort and kids of all ages will feel welcome from the minute you get there. From Sesame Street characters appearing throughout the resort to XBOX consoles in select rooms to the variety of activities available throughout the resort, your kids will not be bored.

Beaches Characters

#9 – Red Lane Spa

As if the natural scenery weren’t enough to get you relaxed and rested, there’s also the Red Lane Spa at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa. Get a manicure, pedicure, treatments and massages. They even have glow-in-the-dark nail polish for fun effects when the sun goes down!

Beaches Spa

#8 – Nightlife for Everyone

When you visit the different villages throughout the Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa, you’ll find there are plenty of things to do when the sun goes down. You’re able to get drinks from various restaurants and bars. One of my favorite nighttime activities is dancing at Club Liquid. There are times dedicated to teens and tweens, so they can also enjoy the nightlife scene. It’s also fun to make new friends while singing karaoke at The Cricketers Pub in the Italian Village.

Beaches Nightlife

#7 – Water, Water, Water

The beaches at Beaches are purely breathtaking. Besides sitting on the beach and taking in the view, there’s plenty to do in the water. There’s a kids’ camp, unlimited scuba diving, hydrobikes, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding, swimming, optional island excursions and my favorite, the waterslides at the Pirates Island Waterpark!

#6 – Opportunity to Give Back

With the Sandals Foundation Pack for a Purpose program, you are able to make an impact when you visit Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa. Bring school supplies when you travel and give them to the front desk to be distributed to schools in the region. You may also get involved and give back while on vacation with the Reading Road Trip through Island Routes (find out more information here). You may also make a monetary donation through the Sandals Foundation to help schools in Turks & Caicos.

Beaches Giving Back

#5 – Happy Employees

The employees I encountered while visiting Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa were all friendly, knowledgeable and had smiles on their faces. The thing that really impressed me is when asking any of them for directions somewhere, they not only tell you how to get there, they will even walk you there.

Beaches Employees

#4 – Unlimited Food & Drinks

You will never go hungry during your stay. There are over 20 restaurants with a wide range of selection. I ate American, Japanese, Southwestern, British cuisine. You also never get thirsty during your stay. Your fridge is stocked with beverages, which are all included in your room cost.

Beaches Food

#3 – Gorgeous Rooms

The rooms also vary in size and view depending on the village. All of them have great amenities. My room in the Caribbean Village was fabulous.

Beaches Rooms

#2 – Beaches

You will want to bring your camera to take photos of the miles and miles of beautiful beaches in Turks & Caicos. Every view looks like it should be on a postcard. The water is so blue.

Beaches

#1 – It’s All-Inclusive

My absolute favorite part about Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa is that it is all-inclusive. It was refreshing to not have to bring my wallet with me wherever I went since practically everything is included (including gratuities). It also made the experience even more enjoyable because I was able to try out activities and meals without having to worry about the cost. With a family, it makes the trip less stressful because you can accommodate the different tastes of those traveling with you. You can try out a new restaurant (or two) for every meal. You can make a quick stop somewhere to have a snack or drink without the added expense. Having so many activities included in the cost is also fantastic because it gives you the freedom to spend your vacation ON vacation!

I would highly recommend Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa for families, as well as for a girlfriends’ getaway. As the sign says below, I wish I could stay there forever!

Tips on Preparing For Disney World

Each week, we’re going to be discussing a different topic regarding Disney as part of our Travel Tuesday series. This week is about “Counting down to Disney” and how you can prepare your family for your upcoming trip to Disney.

Almost exactly two years ago at this time, we were packing and getting ready to leave for Disney World after having been invited to the first-ever Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. Needless to say, we were very excited! Since it was our first trip to Disney World with our kids (and both of us hadn’t been there since we were very young and didn’t remember much about it), we didn’t know what to expect. It was also our first major blogging conference, so it was going to be a double-whammy for surprises.

For our first trip in 2010, we didn’t have much time to prepare or really think about what to do for our trip. In between the normal daily activities we had going on, we also had a sick family member that we were helping take care of, so this trip was going to be a learning experience for us in terms of our blogging careers, and also it was going to be a good break for us from the daily routine.

We were invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration again last year and were so excited (again)! We had more time to plan this trip and decided to extend our trip a few more days to really get the experience of Disney World. In 2010, we stayed only one additional day and thought that we could see a lot more of the theme parks. Boy, were we wrong – we barely made it through 1/2 of the Magic Kingdom.

These are just some of the ways we prepared for our trip last year:

– First of all, we checked our schedules (school and work) to determine which dates worked best for extending our trip.
– Next, we started researching places to stay and places to visit. We already determined that we were going to drive down to Florida, so that gave us some flexibility to be able to visit some of the surrounding attractions.
– Leading up to the trip, we talked to our kids to find out what rides and which of the Disney World Theme Parks they wanted to visit.
– We also watched “Disney Parks: The Secrets, Stories and Magic Behind the Scenes” over and over again to get more excited about the trip. It also talked about some attractions and tips that we did not know about before.
– We talked to the kids about their favorite memories from the first Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. By sharing these memories and looking forward to the new ones we’d be making, it really helped to build and continue the excitement for our family.

One of the things that we truly loved about being at Disney World for the first time was watching our kids’ reactions as they met the various characters, especially Mickey and Minnie. We made it a point to get autograph books for them the minute we went into the park and to this day, they still flip through their books.

We’ll be sharing our Disney memories and tips with you every Tuesday, along with the other Disney Social Media Moms below, so please stop by and visit their sites also! We’d love to hear your favorite Disney stories or tips – feel free to leave a comment or a link to your posts!
